Building a just transition to clean energy infrastructure

Transitioning to clean-powered transportation will require heavy investment in infrastructure, from charging stations to designated bus lanes. Building this infrastructure will stimulate New York’s economy through the creation of a clean energy workforce, offering New York a critical opportunity to invest in our communities and address economic exclusion, systemic racism, and environmental injustices.

By committing to real-world, effective policies like the U.S. Employment Plan (USEP), public agencies can harness government spending on clean infrastructure to create good, family-sustaining jobs. For example, the USEP will ensure a just transition for frontline workers and communities by retraining incumbent workers and creating jobs pipelines that allow people historically excluded from good manufacturing jobs to access apprenticeships
